River sections
Tobogan
- Put-in: on the left river bank, close to signpost "Freiney" below the confluence of two streams.
- Take-out: on the bridge in Purtud, close to signpost ""Peuterey". It is possible to run till the pool below, but there is a wore take out place (longer way to the road).
- Length: 2-3 km
- Time: 16 minutes
- Difficulty: WW III (IV)
To reach the river go through Courmayeur, following the signpost to "Val Veny".
Section with quite big, regular gradient. River is quire narrow. In the stream there are small rocks. Hardly any stoppers. Just after the put-in very fast, afterwards a bit slower. Very shallow. In case of swimming it is hard to help the swimmer. Hardly any eddies.
After the runnable section is a big pool, but it is better to take out on the bridge above - it is easier to reach the road.
It is best to paddle just before the sunset, when there is a highest water level.
X
Below the pool is an unrunnable section with huge gradient.
