Mail od Overdicka w sprawie pegli na Pitzbachu
we were scouting Pitzbach (Plangeross - St. Leonard and Hairlach - Wiesle), but I think it was bit too late - 4-5 PM :) and the water grown 30 cm on Wiesle gauge during coffee break. But there is also lack of information (or even contradictory) about the gauge. Do you know, what are proper water levels for these sections? (and which gauge - we localized one in Wiesle - was 155-160 cm, in St. Leonard - was 40 cm, and in Ritzen - was 75 cm).
yeah the gauges are a bit confusing. i never drove up higher than hairlach, so no idea about upper sections/gauges. we use three gauges: ritzenried at the weir, wiesle on river right (you can see it from the road) and wenns (near the last weir with water divertion; this gauge is the one on kajak.at; but you never drive down to check it) i mostly refer to that online gauge. i did it in may 06 with low to medium water: wenns 0,43m; wiesle 1,20m; ritzenried 1,55m i did it in june 06 with high water: wiesle 1,50m; ritzenried 1,75m i did it in july 07 with low water, only pitzschlucht: wenns 0,38m one day after in noon with high water: wenns: 0,58m same day in late afternoon, fucking high water (the weir scared me deeply and a swimmer in the gorge 90% is lethal): wiesle 1,50m i did it in late july 07: wiesle 1,30m nice medium water then i have a strange notice: mid august medium water: ritzenried 0,60m; wiesle 0,60m; seems there is one meter missing so it seemed either you had real high water; or the gauges changed.
