In former times it was a true classic of the region, mainly big water type. There was ca. 150 km of whitewater paddling up to class 4-5. We were there in 2012, and all the upper sections were dammed. It was possible to paddle the lower section below Barhal/en river, but the last dam is just about to fill up :/

- Put-in: on the right bank of the Barhal/en river, in Yusufeli town, or on the left bank of the Coruh Nehri/en river, below the confluence with Barhal/en.

It used to be big water section (250 cms), with huge buolder gardens and huge holes. We had very low water (70 cms or even less), so it was class 3-4.
